Gum arabic

Gum arabic (also known as gum sudani, acacia gum, Arabic gum, gum acacia, acacia, Senegal gum, Indian gum …) is a natural gum that can be used as a binder medium. This way, you can combine pigment powders with water and a bit of gum arabic to prevent the powder from rubbing off the paper, allowing you to paint or write with your custom-made inks and paints.
It can also help with shimmer or glitter sprays that rub off when they're dry. Add a bit of powder to the mixture until the shimmer holds.
Gum arabic is available in both powder and liquid form. Follow the product's specific instructions in terms of the ratio you should use. You can also add a bit of powder to a liquid mixture, try it out, and add more powder if you need it.
