Positioning cling background stamps
From Craft Wiki
If you want to stamp a cling background stamp image that is bigger than your cardstock and you have a stamping tool, these tips might help.
Stamp stuck to the lid
If you want to go with the way the stamping tools were intended and stick your cling stamp to the lid of your stamping tool, you can do the following:
- stick your stamp onto the lid of your stamping tool
- add some temporary adhesive to your paper or add a sticky mat into your stamping tool
- lie the paper on top of the stamp
- close your tool by placing the base on top of the lid (so the opposite of how you would normally use the tool) and push down
- open your tool again and stamp as usual
Paper stuck to the lid
- lay down your stamp (stamping side up) on the base of your stamping tool
- add some temporary adhesive to your paper
- lie the paper on top of the stamp, sticky side up
- close your tool and push down
- open your tool again and stamp as usual
The normal way but with a scrap piece of paper
The problem with cling stamps is seeing where exactly the edge is, especially with background stamps that are only just big enough to cover a card front. To solve that problem, follow these steps:
- stick your stamp to the lid of your stamping tool
- put a piece of scrap paper in your tool and stamp the background image (lightly)
- add some temporary adhesive to your paper and stick it in the right spot onto the scrap paper
- stamp as usual
