About me

Hi, I'm Ellen Govaerts, the owner of Craft-Wiki. I'm 40 years old and living in Belgium: the country of beer, waffles, and chocolate.

I have been crafting since I was about 10 years old or so, and never really stopped. During the time I ran a webshop in craft supplies, I learned even more about new products and how to use them. Afterward, I realized that the most fun part for me was keeping up with new products, testing them out, figuring out how to get the most out of them, and putting all of that information on my webshop for my customers (and visitors).

About Craft-Wiki

Now that my webshop has closed (due to a lack of time, since I ran the shop as a side business next to my full-time job), my evenings and weekends will again go to this lovely hobby. And to this project, Craft-Wiki: a website that aims to list the most commonly used products, materials, terminology, … in the ever-expanding paper crafting world.

Products and brands

The goal of this website is to have an overview of the different types of products that are out there, how to use them, how to combine them with other products, what brands or specific products are of good quality and give good results, etc. I will only list products if I know (by using them myself or by having seen them used by a trusted source) they are of good quality and they are different enough to distinguish them from other products from the same category. Brands that can only be bought through one vendor or through independent consultants will not be listed.

Information sources

The information that is found on this website is taken from the products themselves, the websites of the manufacturers, or the personal experience of trusted sources (or myself).

I try to stay as objective as possible, but if the information about your products is not correct or not complete, or you want to have your product listed on the website (no guarantees), you can reach out by sending an email to me at hello [at] craft-wiki.com.

P.S.

As a last note: I'm running this website by myself. This, of course, also means that the cost of the hosting and the time I spend keeping this website updated is all on me. Although I don't mind, I am always happy to receive donations to buy myself some more craft fuel. ;)
