A heat tool or heat gun is a device that blows very hot air at a low speed.
This can be used to dry projects, melt embossing powder, make shrink foil shrink without using an oven, make synthetic ribbon curl up, make certain mediums (like embossing paste) bubble up, …
Some heat tools have a low and a high setting, where the low setting is often used to dry paints, and the high for melting embossing powder.
For drying ink, a hairdryer could be used instead. But hairdryers blow much harder (which might move your still wet paint) and will not be hot enough for some of the techniques.
Some good heat tools are the Wagner brand (USA) or the WOW! dual speed heat tool.
